ATLANTA, GA (WTOC) - Georgia Power is celebrating Earth Day, and has a few tips to offer for around the home.

Even if you aren’t able to participate in Earth Day activities in your community, Georgia Power is providing five simple tips to make focusing on energy efficiency, and saving money, easy this Earth Day:

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - The Georgia Southern Botanical Garden will get a new name as part of its 25th anniversary year. 

Beginning on Sept. 1, the garden will be known as the Garden of the Coastal Plain at Georgia Southern University. The name change reflects the garden’s growing reputation as a popular destination for tourists, schools and more.

GSU to host Wine, Moonlight & Magnolias benefit Thursday

Georgia Southern University’s Botanical Garden will host its annual Wine, Moonlight and Magnolias benefit on Thursday, April 19, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Garden.

“This is a wonderful chance to mingle under the stars on a warm spring evening and discover delicious wines,” said Botanical Garden Director Carolyn Altman. "It’s a great chance to enjoy the beauty of the Garden, and all proceeds go to benefit the Garden’s horticultural and educational programs.”
