A Day for Southern kicks off Tuesday | Events
STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Tuesday is the 39th annual "A Day for Southern."
The tradition is Georgia Southern University's largest fundraising event of the year. This is a time when businesses and community members in Statesboro and Bulloch County show their support for the University by donating to scholarships and outreach centers that are not funded by state dollars.
The tradition began in the 1970's when a group of local businessmen decided they wanted to have an organized effort to help Georgia Southern. The relationship between the University and the Statesboro/Bulloch County community is an important one.
If you would like to make a donation you can drop it off at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center on campus between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sept. 11.
